CEO Positioning

The position your next phase needs.

Clarify what you stand for, the value you bring and how to make that clear to the people who matter.

When your role moves ahead of your reputation

The story people use to understand you was built for an earlier phase. Your role has expanded, your contribution has changed or the stakes have risen. Yet the market, the board or your wider network may still be responding to the previous version.

That gap affects the conversations you have, the opportunities that reach you and the confidence others place in your next move.

CEO Positioning helps you define a position that reflects who you are now and where you are heading. The focus is on you as a leader, grounded in the business you lead and the direction you represent.

The signs are usually subtle

They show up in how people introduce you, in the opportunities that almost fit and in the explanations you keep having to repeat.

People still describe an earlier version of you.

Clients, investors or your network associate you with a role or contribution you have grown beyond.

The right opportunities need a clearer signal.

You want your positioning to attract conversations that fit your experience, ambitions and next phase.

Your responsibilities have expanded.

You need the board, your team or other stakeholders to understand what you now bring and what they can expect from you.

A high-stakes conversation comes up.

A new role, investor meeting or public appearance calls for a clear account of who you are, what you stand for and where you intend to go.

A clear position you can put into words

Through a focused process and a confidential online session, we work through your strategic positioning question.

We clarify the value you bring, the direction you want to take and the evidence that makes your position credible. We then find language you can use naturally with the people whose understanding matters most.

The result is a one-page reference for how you introduce yourself, explain your role and communicate your next move.

What your Positioning Page gives you

  • A clear statement of who you are now and the value you bring.

  • The contribution and direction you want to be known for.

  • The experience and evidence that make your position credible.

  • The key messages your priority audience needs to understand.

  • Core wording you can draw on for introductions, profiles and important conversations.

The strategic work gives your story substance. The communication work helps you express it clearly, in language that sounds like you.

CEO Positioning is not branding.
It is the frame through which the market understands your next phase.

How CEO Positioning works

Before the session, I ask for context on what has shifted, who needs to understand it and where your current story falls short.

CEO Positioning includes:

  • A 30-minute intake call and preparation.

  • A confidential, one-to-one online session of 2 hours.

  • A first Positioning Page within 24 hours of the session.

  • One substantive revision following your feedback.

  • A final version within one week, subject to timely feedback.

The page is yours, in your language. The review round ensures that you recognise yourself in both the position and the wording.

Steven Piessens

For 25 years, I have worked alongside CEOs and founders through growth, transition and decisions they couldn’t think through openly within the business.

I have built, led and exited my own company and advised more than 250 leaders across Europe. I know the weight of the seat and how difficult it is to see a decision clearly from inside the system.

I’m based in Málaga, deliberately away from your business circles. I work with CEOs and founders from Belgium, the Netherlands, and beyond. My role is to challenge your assumptions and create the time and distance needed to see it clearly.

The role had evolved. The story had not.

  • A co-founder preparing for an exit had outgrown how the market saw both the business and his role in it. CEO Positioning clarified what had changed, the value he now brought and how to explain the next phase without having to over-explain it.
